More and more Middle Schools, High Schools, and Colleges across the nation are allocating additional resources in the area of diversity training for faculty and staff. We agree that this is very important and of great value. Based on our research and experience in this area, however, focusing on diversity alone is not enough andoes not yieldng the desired outcomes. We help our partners in education to go beyond diversity (a state of being) and experience the power and purpose of inclusion (an act of doing).
CO-HEART stands for Community Organizers Helping Educators Address Racial Tension. This innovative approach to diversity training speaks to the heart just as much as it feeds the mind while helping participants understand how to connect the two and yield transformational results.
CO-HEART empowers all of its participants with the insights, perspectives, and tools to effectively engage diverse groups of people and promote healthy & engaging intergroup contact and meaningful connections.
